If your Deals Stone didn’t apply as expected, it can be confusing. Let’s look at the most common situations and what they mean for you.
The transaction was returned after I used a Deals Stone
If a purchase is refunded after you used a Deals Stone:
- The cashback you received for that purchase is reversed.
- The Deals Stone stays marked as used and is not returned to your account.
Deals Stones are linked to a specific completed purchase. Once used, they cannot be restored, even if the transaction is later refunded.
I didn’t receive higher cashback
To get increased cashback, you need to activate your Deals Stone before you make the purchase.
If you paid first and tried to apply the Deals Stone after the transaction was completed, the higher cashback won’t apply.
Deals Stones work only on future purchases that are started after the Deals Stone is activated.
I can’t use a Deals Stone on an old transaction
Deals Stones cannot be applied to past transactions.
They only work on new purchases made after activation. Cashback that was already received cannot be upgraded with a Deals Stone.

The partner store expired and my Deals Stone is unavailable
Sometimes a partner store takes a break from the ZEN Instant Cashback programme.
If this happens:
- Your Deals Stone for that store becomes unavailable.
- It cannot be used unless the store returns to the programme.
