My ZEN Card payment amount changed

Sometimes a merchant can update the amount of a card payment if the final cost of the goods or services changes after you start the payment.

For example, this can happen when:

  • you add a tip in a food delivery app
  • a change in your route affects the cost of a taxi ride
  • the final price of a product or service changes before the payment is completed

When can a payment amount change?

Payment amount updates are common for services where the final price may depend on how much of the product or service you use. This can include:

  • gas stations
  • food delivery apps
  • ride-sharing apps
  • hotels
  • car rentals

What if I disagree with the updated amount?

Contact the merchant first if you don’t recognize or agree with the updated amount.

If you can’t resolve the issue with the merchant, you can submit a Chargeback request to dispute the payment and try to recover the funds.
