Why can't I add my card to Apple Pay?

Answer

Follow these steps to make sure you can add your card to your Wallet app on Apple device:

  • Make sure you're in a country or region that supports Apple Pay (external link).
  • Make sure you are using a compatible device (external link).
  • Make sure your device is protected with Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID, or a passcode.
  • Update to the latest version of iOS, watchOS, or macOS.
  • Sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID. Please note that if the Apple ID account owner is less than 13 years old, Apple Pay isn't available, and you can't add a card in the Wallet app. Age varies by country or region.
  • Restart your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac.

After each step, check if you can add the card to Wallet.
