A branch isn't a separate legal person, so we need to verify both the branch and its parent entity.
Send a current registry extract for each one. This can be an up-to-date printout or PDF from the relevant official register.
What information does the branch extract need to show?
The branch extract should show:
- the branch name, registration number, and registered address
- that the branch registration is still active
- the full name of the authorised branch representative
If the extract doesn't name the representative, also send the board resolution of the parent entity appointing the branch representative. This should show who the parent entity has appointed to represent the branch and what they're authorised to do
What information does the parent entity extract need to show?
The parent entity extract should show:
- the parent entity's legal name, registration number, and registered address
- that the parent entity is still active
- who runs the parent entity
- who owns the parent entity
If the extract doesn't show management or ownership information, send the documents required for the parent entity's legal form.
For example, if the parent entity is a limited liability company or partnership, check the article for that legal form to see which additional documents you need.
You may also be asked to provide the parent entity's:
- certificate of incorporation
- articles of association
Does my country change which documents I need?
No. The same document requirements apply wherever the branch and parent entity are registered.
What should you check before uploading your documents?
- Send the most recent version of each extract. We can't accept historical or superseded documents.
- Include every page, even if a page only contains a stamp or signature.
- Make sure the branch name, parent entity name, and their registration numbers are clearly readable.
- You can upload a clear scan, photo, or downloaded PDF. Make sure all text is legible.
- Documents in your local language are accepted. You don't need to translate them.
What happens after you upload your documents?
Your documents are sent for review after you upload them.
If we need another document or more information, we'll let you know.
