My ZEN Card doesn’t work for contactless payments

Contactless payments with your ZEN Card usually work by simply holding the card near the terminal. If a payment doesn’t go through, it’s often a small, temporary issue. The steps below cover the most common reasons and how to fix them quickly.

Re-enable contactless with your PIN

After several contactless payments in a row, your card may ask for a PIN to confirm it’s really you.
Insert your card into a payment terminal or ATM and enter your PIN. This resets and re-enables contactless payments.

Check if your ZEN Card is active

If your card is blocked, contactless payments won’t work.
Open the ZEN.COM app, select your card, and unlock it. You can start using it again right away.

Check your spending limits

If you’ve reached your card limits, the payment may be declined.
You can view and adjust your spending limits directly in the ZEN.COM app to continue paying contactless.

Refresh Apple Pay or Google Pay

If you pay with your ZEN Card through Apple Pay or Google Pay, removing and adding the card again can help.
Delete the card from your wallet, then add it back. This refreshes the tokenized version of your card and often restores contactless payments.

Check if your physical card is damaged

If your physical ZEN Card looks worn or scratched, the contactless chip may not work properly.
You can order a new card easily in the ZEN.COM app.
