Stones can feel a bit specific in where they work, so here’s the simple rule: Stones (except Deals Stones) can be used on completed ZEN Card payments made to merchants whose category matches the Stone type.
Where Stones work
You can use Stones on completed ZEN Card payments.
They don’t work on payments still in progress, transfers, top-ups, or refunds.
Before we start
- Each Stone can be used for one transaction.
- Stones don’t stack. You can use only one at a time.
- Used Stones cannot be returned.
- If the transaction value is lower than the Stone’s value, you’ll receive moneyback only up to the transaction amount.
Example: If you use a €2 Stone on a €1 purchase, you receive €1 back.

Passion Stones
You can use a Passion Stone on a transaction made at merchants with these categories:

Computer Software Stores; Digital Goods; Hobby, Toy, and Game Shops; Video Game Arcades. -
Passion Stone: Movie & Books
Cable and other pay television; Digital Goods: Books, Movies, Music; Book Stores; Motion Pictures and Video Tape Production and Distribution; Motion Picture Theatres. -
Passion Stone: Music
Music Stores, Musical Instruments, Piano Sheet Music; Record Shops; Digital Goods: Books, Movies, Music; Dance Halls, Studios, and Schools; Theatrical Producers (except Motion Pictures), Ticket Agencies; Bands, Orchestras, and Miscellaneous Entertainers.
Bills Stones
You can use a Bills Stone on a transaction made at merchants with these categories:

Bills Stone: Utilities
Electric, Gas, Sanitary, and Water Utilities. -
Bills Stone: Fuel
Petroleum and Petroleum Products; Service Stations; Automated Fuel Dispensers; Electric Vehicle Charging; Fuel - Fuel Oil, Wood, Coal, Liquefied Petroleum. -
Bills Stone: Mobile
Fax services, Telecommunication Services. -
Bills Stone: Internet
Computer Network Services.
Joy Stones
You can use a Joy Stone on a transaction made at merchants with these categories:
- Dairy Products Stores; Bakeries; Misc. Food Stores - Convenience Stores and Specialty Markets; Caterers; Eating places and Restaurants; Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages), Bars, Taverns, Cocktail lounges, Nightclubs, and Discotheques; Fast Food Restaurants; Package Stores - Beer, Wine, and Liquor.
Support Stones
You can use a Support Stone on a transaction made at merchants with these categories:
- Charitable and Social Service Organisations.
Deals Stones
A Deals Stone boosts cashback at one specific Instant Cashback partner assigned randomly when you win it. This partner cannot be changed.
When you use a Deals Stone:
- Your cashback rate for that purchase increases to the percentage shown on the Stone.
- It doesn’t combine with standard cashback or with other Deals Stones.
- Maximum cashback per boosted purchase is €250.
Important
- A Deals Stone can only boost your next eligible transaction.
- If your order gets cancelled, the used Deal Stone can’t be returned.
- It cannot be used on past purchases.
- All other Stones can be used on past transactions.
Fortune Stones
Fortune Stones can be used on any completed ZEN Card payment, regardless of merchant category.
