ZEN.COM supports Local RON (Romanian Leu) transfers through the TRANSFOND system. It's Romania’s network for fast and low-cost domestic payments. You can send and receive RON locally if your account meets specific Romanian verification criteria.
Who can use local RON transfers and Romanian account numbers
Local RON account numbers and TRANSFOND transfers are available if:
- For individual clients: Your ID is issued in Romania and your residence country is Romania.
- For business clients: Your company is registered in Romania.
- For all clients: You didn’t select “Other” as the purpose of opening your ZEN account.
If your verification document or account purpose differs, TRANSFOND transfers and Romanian account numbers won’t appear. You can update your account details to enable them.
What is TRANSFOND?
TRANSFOND is Romania’s electronic payment system that connects local banks. It helps process RON transfers faster and at lower cost than SWIFT. ZEN.COM supports both standard and instant TRANSFOND transfers. The type used depends on the recipient bank.
How to send TRANSFOND transfer in ZEN.COM

How long TRANSFOND transfers take
When you make a RON transfer in your ZEN.COM app, TRANSFOND is automatically selected when available. The type (Standard or Express) used depends on the recipient bank.
Standard TRANSFOND transfers:
- Usually arrive within one business day.
- Processed Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
Express TRANSFOND transfers:
- Usually complete within 5 minutes, including weekends and holidays.

Information
The maximum transfer amount for a TRANSFOND transaction is 50000 RON. Please note that transfers from ZEN to the National Agency for Fiscal Administration of Romania (ANAF - Agenția Națională de Administrare Fiscală) and other institutions related to the Romanian Ministry of Finance aren’t supported yet.
Can I cancel TRANSFOND transfer after sending it?
Once you confirm an TRANSFOND transfer, it can’t be canceled or reversed by ZEN.COM. If you’d like to cancel the transfer:
- Contact the recipient’s bank to request a refund, or
- If the recipient’s account is closed or invalid, the funds will be refunded automatically.
