Send two documents:
- a current registry extract, such as an up-to-date printout or PDF from your official register
- your partnership agreement or deed, which is the founding agreement between the partners
Together, these documents should provide the information we need to verify your partnership in every country we work with.
What information do your documents need to show?
Together, the registry extract and partnership agreement or deed should show:
- the partnership's legal name, registration number, and registered address
- that the partnership is still active
- the full name of every managing partner, meaning the partner or partners who manage and represent the partnership
- the full name of every partner
- each partner's role or class, for example general partner or limited partner
- the share or percentage of interest each partner holds
If available, it also helps if the registry extract shows:
- legal form
- registration date
- country of registration
- tax ID
You can still continue with your application if these additional details aren't shown.
What if some information is missing?
If the registry extract and partnership agreement or deed don't show everything listed above, add the document that provides the missing information. You don't need to send all of these.
- Resolution or deed appointing the managing partners: the decision naming who manages and represents the partnership, if neither the registry extract nor the partnership agreement shows this
- Deed of admission or withdrawal of partners: use this if a partner has joined or left since the partnership agreement was signed and the agreement no longer reflects the current partners
- Annual return or annual filing: your most recent yearly filing, if it lists the partners and their shares
- Certificate of incorporation or registration: the certificate issued when the partnership was first registered
- Certificate of good standing or existence: confirmation from the registry that the partnership is active and up to date with its filings
- Official confirmation letter from the registry: a letter or electronic confirmation for countries where the registry doesn't issue formal extracts
- Court registration decision or decree: the court order registering the partnership, in countries where a court handles registration
- Ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) declaration or beneficial ownership register extract: identifies the people who ultimately own or control the partnership. This can support your other documents, but it can't replace them.
What if a partnership interest is held through a nominee?
Also send the nominee agreement. This should show who holds the partnership interest and who they hold it for.
Are there extra document requirements in some countries?
Hong Kong and the United Kingdom
Also send your certificate of incorporation or registration together with the registry extract and partnership agreement.
What should you check before uploading your documents?
- Send the most recent version. We can't accept historical or superseded documents.
- Include every page, even if a page only contains a stamp or signature.
- Make sure the partnership's full legal name and registration number are clearly readable.
- You can upload a clear scan, photo, or downloaded PDF. Make sure all text is legible.
- Documents in your local language are accepted. You don't need to translate them.
What happens after you upload your documents?
Your documents are sent for review after you upload them.
If we need another document or more information, we'll let you know.
