Activating your ZEN Card only takes a moment and helps keep your money safe. This guide shows you when and how to activate a physical card and what to expect with virtual cards.
Before you start
For security reasons, activate your physical ZEN Card only after it has been delivered to you.
If the card were to end up in the wrong hands before delivery, an inactive card cannot be used, so your funds stay protected.
Your virtual ZEN Card is active right away after it’s generated. No extra steps are needed.
Activate your physical card in the app
- Log in to your ZEN.COM app and select “Cards” from the bottom menu.
- Choose the card and tap "Activate card" below it.
That’s it. Your card is now fully active and ready for any type of transaction.
First transaction with a physical card
The first transaction made with a physical card may need to be confirmed with your PIN code or by inserting the card into a POS terminal.

I don't see the "Activate card" button
If you don’t see the “Activate card” button under your ZEN Card, check the following:

Your card may already be active.
After your card is activated, the “Activate card” button disappears. -
You may be viewing a different card.
If you have multiple ZEN Cards, make sure you selected the physical card you want to activate, not another active or virtual card. -
Your card may be virtual.
Virtual ZEN Cards are active right away after they’re generated, so you don’t need to activate them manually.
To check if your card is already active, you can download the ZEN Card ownership certificate. The certificate shows your card status.
